Adventure Wedding
What kind of an elopement do you plan for two free spirited musicians who met at an open mic night, love gourmet pizza, craft beer, are big fans of taking off for parts unknown? We knew it needed to be intimate, secluded and full of beautiful things to look at.
The day started with hair and make up with Adelina of Make Up and Hair by Adelina, and then she helped got K into her first dress of the day by Lulu's.com, just as her flowers arrived from Paula at Bells n Bloom. We planned to have their wedding ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, as it was easy for them to arrive, get the marriage license and have the ceremony very quickly. K and M are typical introverted song writers, so a short and sweet ceremony was just what they wanted. I've found that the length of the ceremony doesn't have anything to do with the level of emotion. Even in that brief time the energy passing between the two of them as they gazed into each other's eyes was unforgettable. Their love will stay with me, it's a gift to witness that kind of vulnerability. It's always the quiet ones, isn't it? This relationship consists of many facets. Fearless, harmonious and adventurous. Adventurous tops the list. Naturally we enlisted the help of our partners, the Painted Ladies Tour Company. They have seven fully restored vintage VW buses. These little beauties can be seen all over the Bay Area with their bright cheery colors and flirty eyelashes on the headlights. Pearl is the only bus in White, but Poppy, Sky and Sunny are available if you love brighter colors. You'll find the options for pop up weddings and photo tours in our packages for San Francisco. They also travel with us to our Sonoma wine country locations, but not on this couples wedding day. You can look forward to some of those blog posts in the future. This couple knew that they wanted to be completely submerged in nature with a fun picnic and total privacy. Being somewhat shy, they didn't want to go to the more typical and popular spots in the area. We clamored into Pearl, the white wedding bus. We headed across the Golden Gate Bridge, singing and laughing and drinking champagne. Because when you are with K and M, there is always the singing. We headed toward the coast and the Marin Headlands very happy to find a beautiful field that one of the tour operators had scoped out for us ahead of time. Laughing and jostling, we four wheeled the little bus into the center of a lovely field surrounded by low mountains for our very Pinterest worthy celebration and the look and feel of an adventure wedding but without having to trek very far. Spending time together, relaxed because there was nobody but us and the beautiful hawks wheeling overhead, they were really able to connect and be present with each other. Their images reflect this level of comfort and intimacy. Rachel and Julia were the photographers and Will manned the video and drone for some epic shots. We're hoping one of them makes the cover of this couple's next album.
